We provide primary vision care for the entire family (adults, children,
infants). Our comprehensive adult eye examination includes
calculating the spectacle
prescription, retinal health examination with pupil dilation
if required, glaucoma checks, cataract evaluation, eye coordination and peripheral vision
testing. Children and infants are tested based on their age and expected level
of visual development. We welcome patients with learning
difficulties- their carers are often surprised at the range of techniques we
can use.
Each of our three consulting rooms are extremely well equipped, and this equipment
is used daily to enable us to examine your eyes and visual
system. One of the most recent additions to our instrumentation is a digital
video camera which enables an image of the front of the eye to be stored on
your computerised record.
Our Optometrists believe strongly that good communication
with a patient is vital, and will take as much time as is needed to explain
any procedures carried out, and ensure that you understand the outcome of the
examination. They will listen carefully to any problems you may have, and ask
questions to help determine your needs.
For further information on the contents of the eye examination, whether you
are entitled to an NHS eye examination, and 10 reasons for having an eye
examination, we recommend you visit the site of the
College
of Optometry.
The downstairs consulting room has wheelchair access, and every assistance
is give to those of our patients with disabilities. Home visits are also
available for patients who are housebound.
